The 7 Biggest Mistakes You Can Easily Avoid when buying Car Parts

I am wary of buying car parts online:

I beg not to sound as if I am making any generalization yet a couple of instances have definitely left me sore. It involves buying spare parts for my car and how I have been hoodwinked from right under my nose and I realized it a little too late.

All the same, I am more cautious now:

A couple of years ago, my favorite automobile had a problem which my mechanic and the company that services it estimated the cost to go much beyond my budget. I called up the insurance guys who were not too helpful either. The choice was to either get it serviced at exorbitant rates or to put in on the block.

I was happy with neither of the choices:

I thought to myself that if I sit over it may be I could come up with a workable solution. In the meantime, my garage mechanic strictly advised me against sitting on the matter for too long because naturally the car had a nagging problem and it could become worse with not repairing it and letting it stand idle. Additionally, there was a risk that the car manufacturer in the course of time would phase out the model and I would not be able to sell it for a decent price because then the spare parts would be in demand and would claim a premium price, in turn, depreciating the value of the automobile itself.

I had to take a quick decision:

A friend of mine who was quite sympathetic about the whole issue asked me to check out online for the part and he also said something to the effect that the internet is a good place to find UK car parts.

I hate myself for listening to his advice. I hooked up with a person on the internet who claimed he was from the company and who sold me the parts that I needed at exorbitant rates assuring me that the company has no stock of the spare parts in question. Only three days later I realized that the company did have some stock left and this hoodwinker had duped me with refurbished parts of an abandoned car. I want to catch hold of that crook and wring his neck now!
